About Kind Eyes Prosthetics
Combining Expert Craftsmanship with Exceptional Care
Established in 2021, Kind Eyes Prosthetics' goal is to make access to artificial eyes worry-free and easy for those with all levels of care needs. With over ten years' experience creating ocular prosthetics, Owner and Ocularist Lorna Rynne started Kind Eyes in order to make prosthetic eyes accessible to all. The Kind Eyes Prosthetics Ethos
At Kind Eyes, we believe that collaboration is key to creating fantastic results. Throughout the process, we work closely with our patients to ensure every detail is as it should be and to make sure we have covered what is really important. Building a strong connection is paramount for us - after all, the relationship between a patient and their ocularist is often life-long!
We understand that getting an ocular prosthetic made and fitted can be daunting, and our ocularist, Lorna Rynne, is always on hand to answer any questions you have, however big or small. Our process is transparent, and we steer away from medical jargon to ensure that our patients can understand the journey from start to finish.
We are well-equipped to work with children and have experience creating and fitting paediatric prosthetic eyes. We know that as a parent, this process can be even more daunting, and we're here to put not only your mind, but your little one's mind at ease, also.
As well as children, we're passionate about helping patients with complex care needs. We can adapt our process to suit patients with both visible and invisible disabilities or neurodivergent patients who require specialist support.
At the end of our time together, we are sure that you will leave with a prosthesis that feels entirely personal to you, thanks to our collaborative and communicative approach.

About Your Ocularist
About Owner and Ocularist Lorna Rynne
After 8 years of creating ocular prosthetics, I started Kind Eyes to merge expert craftsmanship with a high level of client care and give patients an ocularist they can trust. I recognise the uncertainty many people have when getting an ocular prosthetic made, and with Kind Eyes, I hope to create an environment where patients feel well cared for and well catered to.
Before discovering my passion for ocular prosthetics, my journey started in New Zealand, where I studied printmaking and sculpture.
In 2013, here in the UK, I began my prosthetics training under the guidance of John Pacey-Lowrie in Nottingham. Then, in 2014, I was offered a position at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where I worked for 8 years as an ocularist and then advanced ocularist.
My time at Moorfields gave me the opportunity to work with both adult and paediatric patients, creating prosthetics for many patients with complex sockets who found it difficult to access good treatment elsewhere.
With my years of experience in a busy and varied NHS department, I'm more than comfortable working with microphthalmic and anophthalmic patients, with newly monocular patients and with patients who wear bilateral prosthetics.
As an ocularist, I bring a high level of craftsmanship and skill to my work. I pride myself on my observation and painting skills and on my ability to sculpt shapes that are both comfortable and flattering.
